Oceanport Borough, New Jersey
In response to Hurricane Sandy, the Borough of Oceanport made it a priority to offer information and services online for its residents. After vetting multiple vendors, Oceanport enlisted SDL to help.
The borough used SDL's digital form builder to roll these services out gradually, adding 3 new requests at a time which made the transition process more manageable for its staff. The borough promotes these services through its council meetings, local newspaper, bulletin, website, social media accounts, and by word of mouth.
The Clerks Department has seen many benefits, including:
Increased resident engagement
Ability to bring a number of previously paper-based processes online including Mercantile Applications, OPRA requests, Complaints, Pet Licenses, and more
Enabled residents to submit requests, search for information and view personalized content directly from Oceanport' s website
There are a lot of software vendors out there. We found SDL to be the most reasonable. We're a small town, so we can't necessarily take on some of the bigger software companies. SDL worked with us on a pricing structure we could afford and made it possible for us to modernize our small town technologies.
